Sanctuary Intensive Rescue Heel Balm

Oh my goodness I am so impressed with this cream!

I was given it as part of a set with other Sanctuary products but I was yet to try it out. I had a night out with my best gal pals in London at the weekend and the next day my feet were a MESS!

I applied the cream all over my feet and they instantly felt better, so moisturising and soothed the pain of my blister-covered feet! Rank!

So just a quick message to say if you have been neglecting your tootsies and punishing them with pretty heels then I would definitely suggest this :)!

The Avon Products!

Hi guys!! :)

First of all, I completely forgot I had also ordered a mascara - SuperShock mascara to be precise! I seem to do this a lot, make an order, then get a nice surprise when the it arrives with lots of goodies I had forgotten about. :)

Pro-to-go Lipstick -
FANTASTIC! I love it, im definitely going to be purchasing this product again, perhaps some more shades too! Easily applied, smooth finish, moisturising, lasts all day! I could carry on haha!

Ideal Shade Natural Liquid Foundation -
I've tried this foundation before and it never lets me down, it smells gorgeous! It's so soft and gives a nice matte finish. Good coverage which is easily buildable depending on how much coverage you want!

Perfect Wear Liquid Eye Liner Pen -
I was actually really impressed with this product. I'm not sure why it has received the negative comments that it has.
I wore it to work; a 12 hour shift from 6am - 6pm and it was still in perfect place when I got home!
Applying make up at 5am takes some skill. This liner is so easy - one attempt and I had perfect, precise liner.
I do agree with some comments that the black shade is not completely black and does have a slightly navy tint to it, but only noticeable close up!
A good buy but you could probably find a better alternative for a similar/cheaper price.

SuperShock Mascara -
Really, really nice mascara. Separates lashes well, makes them thicker, longer and no clumps! A lovely thick applicator as well. Will buy again!

Coming up, I will be reviewing some hair products :)

AVON Order!

Just completed my seasonal order from AVON. A fairly minimal order this time sadly!

I've ordered a liquid liner, foundation and lipstick. I'll be sure to let you all know how they are, Im expecting good things :)

Here is a little preview of whats coming in the post to me - YAY!

AVON Pro-to-go Lipstick in Baby Lips at £7.50:

AVON describes the product as: 'Our amazing one handed lipstick, so you can apply anywhere, anytime. Luscious, sheer to medium colour and balm in one, so lips are hydrated. SPF15.'

The reviews seem to all praise the product with comments such as:

'The most beautiful shade and creamy, durable lipstick ever'
'It is smooth and easy to apply giving an even coverage'

Next up! Avon Ideal Shade Natural Liquid Foundation in Ivory: Usually £10.50 down to £5.50!!

AVON describes this foundation as: 'Silky smooth, radiant formula softens the look of lines, wrinkles and pores, and the buildable medium coverage lets you conceal imperfections for a flawless finish. Oil free.'

Once again good comments. For example:

'It gives me great coverage, matches my colour perfectly.'
'Great coverage, hides the pores on my nose and cheeks, highly recommended.'

And lastly!! Perfect Wear Liquid Eye Liner Pen in Black: £7.00

AVON describes it as a 'Precision liner that lasts all day based on a Consumer wera evaluation, of 35 women.' - impressive!

The reviews are more mixed for this product. But I won't write it off until I've tried it for myself! I've tried some terrible liners in the past so I will trust my own view on this I think:
'Came out very watery and would smudge easily while dry too!'
'I don't agree with all the negative reports, I always come back to this product.'

I'll give these all a go and report back! Very exciting, eep!

Favourite Eye Products!

Shadow - MAYBELLINE NEW YORK Expert Wear Mono (412, Lagoon Blue - £4.09)
Liner - MAYBELLINE NEW YORK Line Definer Liquid Eyeliner (In Black Brown - £3.99)
Mascara - MAYBELLINE NEW YORK Great Lash Mascara (In Very Black - £5.19)
Brow Pencil - RIMMEL Professional Eye Brow Pencil (£2.99)

I'll keep this post brief!

Maybelline New York Expert Wear Mono - Lagoon Blue

Colour - 4/5
Durability - 4/5
Blending - 4/5
Value For Money - 4/5
Comments - There is a fantastic range of colours if the Lagoon Blue isn't for you. I've got a few of them and they are all wonderful. This colour can be adapted so you can dress it up or use it to simply add a bit of colour to your day-look.

Maybelline New York Line Definer Liquid Eyeliner - Black Brown

Ease of Use - 4/5
Durability - 3/5 (Can wear off throughout day)
Value For Money - 4/5
Comments - Perfect for those who haven't used liquid liner before, less fiddly and more stable! Although the ease of use does compromise the definition and precision of liquid liner. I have been using this daily as I was given it from a friend, and I have been complimented on my liquid liner a lot! Saying 'it's never out of place!' and I always reccomend this in return for the niceness!

Maybelline New York Great Lash Mascara - Very Black

Volume - 4/5
Length - 3/5
Durability - 4/5
Value For Money - 3/5
Comments - Everything you need from a mascara! Comes in waterproof too which I always buy for holidays. Probably better for day-looks as they give a naturally volumous look, if you're looking for something more intense for the evening this isn't for you.

Rimmel Professional Eye Brow Pencil

Precision - 4/5
Natural Finish - 5/5
Value For Money - 5/5
Comments - I always find it funny because without filling in my brows they are near enough invisible, quite thin and fine. Since using this a couple of people have mentioned how neat my eye brows are, and one person actually asked who does them for me! I do them, but this pencil really does all the work.
It comes with a brow brush too which is ESSENTIAL!! I'd also reccommend a brow gel to ensure they stay picture-perfect all day long

Top 5 lip products!

LUSH Honey Trap Lip Balm (£4.99 - LUSH)
Vaseline Rosy Lips (£1.93 - Boots)
AVON Moisture Seduction Lipstick (In pout, £6.00 - Avon)
Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker (In Plum Juice, £8.43 - Boots)
Natural Collection Juicy Lips Lipgloss (In Barley Sugar, £1.99 - Boots)

So, not long ago I went through an incurable phase of lip-product-addiction!
Right now I've moved onto eyes.. (another post coming soon!)
But through that phase I gathered up countless amounts of lip products - from balms, to sticks, to liners, to gloss. Each and every item I love to bits, but I felt some needed a special mention!

I'll start with LUSH Honey Trap Lip Balm. This was actually a recent buy (since being cured!!) I went into LUSH with the intention of just buying a couple of bath bits, but I have a love/hate relationship with the staff in there - they are so nice that I end up spending money on things I TOLD myself I wouldn't!
It's quite expensive for the small amount you get, but it really does have the quality to justify it.

- It is so moisturising, my lips felt soft and smooth within 2 or 3 applications through the course of one day.
- It smells lovely, an almost healthy smell?
- It's travel size, perfect for chucking in your bag for a day at work/uni

Secondly! Vaseline Rosy Lips. It truly is a classic, a key beauty essential. I've been using Vaseline for years to keep my lips soft through the winter months. I love that they've progressed and brought out Rosy Lips, it's a lovely spin on the traditional Vaseline.

- A lovely smell and tint
- BARGAIN!
- Guaranteed to improve the look and health of your lips!

AVON Moisture Seduction Lipstick. To define this lipstick in one word is 'pretty'. It's a really feminine pink for any spring look.
It really does make your lips feel soft while your wearing it, so much so that I end up rubbing my lips together so much that it comes off!
I really hate that AVON is so underrated, their products never fail to perform. They are reasonably priced and new products are regularly available to keep you on your toes :)!

- Lovely colour
- Feels really soft
- Well priced

Now for the incredible Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker! It really is a star amongst the plumping lip glosses out there. I know it's not always the most important but I do love the packaging, I feel quite proud when I get to the till and hand over my Soap and Glory products! They are so fancy-but-fun!!

The colour is a kind of sexy-yet-subtle red. The tingling sensation lasts for around 15 minutes, and I really do notice a difference when I use it. I have fairly thin lips and after I've put this on I feel like pouting all the time!
A must-have for Valentine's this year.

- Makes you feel sexy!
- Actually works
- GORGEOUS chocolate fragrance

And last but not least - Natural Collection Juicy Lips Lipgloss. As a student, I'm always on the look out for cheap products that still have fantastic quality. For £1.99 there is no reason why you shouldn't have this product.
It's a really girly gloss - a pretty pink, packed full of glitter and shimmer. It smells amazing, a touch of vanilla with sugary scents.
It works well on top of pink lipsticks. Its not too sticky as some cheap glosses can be, and is durable!

- Girly and flirty colour
- Non-sticky, durable
- another bargain!!!

Yet another blog which is double the length I predicted! Thank you for sticking with me haha
More posts soon, I'm really enjoying sharing my views with you all, feel free to let me know your views too :)

Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light shampo

Ok I'm just going to come out and say it. I am SO impressed with Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light.
If you struggle with fine hair that gets weighed down easily, this is perfect. For me, I have thin hair, but I love to style it with products. So my hair care usually has to consist of light weight products to stop my hair from becoming flat!

After washing and drying, my hair felt soft, smooth and light. The scent is very soft and refreshing, nothing too overpowering :)

I am excited to go out and get the conditioner to see how much more of a difference that will make.

The shampoo is £2.07 (250ml at Boots) or £4.07 (500ml at Boots)

Value for money: 3/5
End result: 4/5
Fragrence: 4/5
Shine: 3/5

Foundation comparison

So I am forever trying to find the perfect foundation, I know it is the same case for many girls!
I've got so many foundations, all of which are good for their own reasons.
The three I've chosen cover all budgets and skin solutions.

Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid in Fawn (£6.19)
Max Factor Lasting Performance in Pastelle (£9.99)
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection in Biscuit(£3.99)

Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid is a lovely foundation. It has appeared in loads of beauty awards lists. It has a soft finish, the only downfall with me is that its so soft I can't stop touching my skin and end up rubbing it off!! It leaves a matte finish, almost like what you would expect from a powder. My personal difficulty with foundation, especially in the winter, is that my skin becomes dry in places and foundation flakes off.
This foundation was great in that it didn't flake, it's finish is light, good for those of you who already have pretty good skin, but if you had the odd spot or imperfection you will undoubtedly need a concealer with a higher coverage. Lovely fragrance.

Max Factors Lasting performance had the highest price tag of the foundations, and as they say a high price tag does not necessarily mean good quality. It leaves a dewy finish and gives good coverage over dark patches under the eyes and red patches on the cheeks. One downfall I found was that you have to be really thorough with blending this foundation as orange 'tide-marks' can be quite shocking with this! It is thicker than Dream Satin but does last longer as it says it should do! Good for if your at college/uni/work all day and don't fancy nipping to the bathroom to top up!

Collection 2000's Lasting perfection also lasts well. This is something I look for in a foundation as I only really get one chance a day to apply make-up! The only bad point of a good lasting foundation is that they tend to be thicker and really feel like they are clogging up your skin. This foundation is oil free and doesn't make my T-zone feel too clogged, although it is still a very heavy foundation. It leaves a really natural looking dewy finish, which I personally love. The smell isn't the most attractive, my boyfriend moans it makes me face smell weird! So perhaps not the best if you're out to kiss someone!!

I hope this helped! Overall I would say Maybelline Dream Satin is a winner for coverage and finish, if you like a less matte finish like me, I add some highlighter on my cheekbones and eyes to add some shine!!
The others are definitely worth a go though, but really proves that price does not always mean quality.

Speak soon girls! xxxxx

Spending Spree

I've just gotten back from Boots. I initially went to buy shampoo, I obviously came out with a lot more!

For the shampoo I went for Pantene Pro-V aqua light as I've heard so many good things about it, if it goes well I'll get the conditioner too!

Then I caught a glimpse of Schwarzkopf GLISS hair repair which is a leave-in conditioner-type-thing!

Finally I fancied myself a bit of L'oreal visible radiance renewing cleansing milk, I've never heard of it, but it sounded lovely none-the-less!

I'm really excited to try these bits out, I will let you know how all of them go. I've also gathered up many different brands of dry shampoo lately, so I think I will do a comparison post at some point in the near future!

Look forward to writing soon! :)

Phoebe

I'm not dead!

I'm so disappointed that I only managed two posts! This past year has been so stressful that keeping a blog was the last thing on my mind. Basically last year was my last year of A levels in order to get into university.
I achieved all the grades I needed and I am now blogging from my halls of residence at Portsmouth university. I'm studying Journalism and English language, my course has inspired me to get back into my review blog because it really is good practice, and I do love doing it!
Luckily, now that my course is related to this type of thing, I have no reason for it not to be a priority anymore!
Expect lots of posts in the upcoming weeks (making another post immediately after this explanatory one!)

Toodles!!!
